Pirates Cove is pleased to welcome Dan Sullivan back to the Boat House Stage!
Dan Sullivan was born in Wichita, KS and raised in Kansas City, MO. The mid-western work ethic and easy-going nature flows through him and his music. The first time Dan saw the ocean he was five years old. It was down in Corpus Christi where he and his brother played in the surf and sang Beach Boy tunes at the top of their lungs. The Gulf of Mexico still haunts his soul and his music. So much so, that after college, Dan took his guitar and songbook out to sea working for various cruise lines. After two and a half years of sailing and salting, Dan landed in Austin, TX. It's been home ever since.

Donny Brewer returns to the Boat House Stage for his first show here in 7 years!
Donny is a Parrot Head, sure, Rasta fan, yeah, but the Texas born and bred multi-instrumentalist is more than that. In fact he started in his teens playing big-hair rock in bars he wasn’t even old enough to be in. Later, in college, he found he could make more money playing country in Texas dance halls. Eventually he got fired from his job and gave up his art education to tour with country acts. There he was educated by a different professor — the road.

Witness Pedigree (2013), which landed a nomination for 2014 female vocalist of the year by the Academy of Texas Country Music. Her inspiration remains straightforward. “Putting a thought to a guitar is where the spark happens for me,” Graham says. “Living life and embracing the moments enough to make them a memory for someone else through a song is such a rewarding passion.”

We welcome Aaron back to the Boat House Stage. Aaron was here in 2020 and also in 2021. He also wrote the 2022 TRMA Song of the Year, “Song for a Sunset”.

His music covers a wide range of topics and has taken him all over the world. But most special to him are his songs about the laid-back lifestyle best enjoyed in a hammock underneath a palm tree with a rum in hand.
Whether you hear music on Radio Margaritaville, on stage with John Frinzi and the Coral Reefers at MOTM, or in some Key West hideaway, his music is sure to take you away to that "one particular harbor" and get you in an island state of mind.

The Detentions were born and they played their first official gig for a faculty Christmas party. Pirates & Poets is bringing their showcase to Pirates Cove with Jerry Diaz, Aubrey Wollett, and Tommy Alverson!
Jerry Diaz is called the "Godfather of Trop Rock" for all the great events and music he has given us. He’s a songwriter, solo performer, and founder of the band "Hanna's Reef". The son of a merchant marine (R.L. Diaz) from the coast of Venezuela, and an artist (Irene Rivera) from Mexico, Diaz has both the nautical spirit and the gypsy flair running through his veins.
Aubrey Wollett tours all over the U.S. and has opened up for country artists such as Tanya Tucker, Billy Currington, Hunter Hayes, Wynonna Judd, Jerrod Niemann, and Carly Pearce. She also opened for Jay Leno on his comedy tour. Wollett’s single “Saltwater Gypsy” was premiered on CMT won 2019 Music Video of the year for the International Singer Songwriter Association Awards. Wollett’s latest EP has a two hit singles “Beach Vibes” and “Better on a Beach” which has won another ISSA Award, and both songs have hit #1 on the Trop Rock charts.
As stated in the Dallas Morning News, “Tommy Alverson should be the permanent face of the independent Texas country music movement. He embodies all the hallmarks of the sound, and the mind-set. …. He loves Americana music, that decidedly Texas blend of country, swing, Tex-Mex, Southern rock, folk and blues. He writes songs, but also has no qualms about recording good material from somebody else's pen. He's made a living playing music his way. Texas One More Time is Alverson's ninth disc in a career that has been incredibly steady. He's carved a livelihood playing and recording the music he cherishes in the state he calls home. That's the epitome of successful. He doesn't need anything else.”

We are happy to bring you another "new to you" artist this year. If you are not a Steve Hopper fan, you will be before the end of the concert!
Steve, a lifelong Parrothead, had taught himself to play guitar with a Jimmy Buffett songbook . Unknowingly, he had found his niche. He soon began performing every weekend, then several nights a week and before he knew it he had a new full-time job. Twenty years later, he is still going strong playing his guitar and steel drum regularly from Memphis to Key West.

This is a SECRET concert for Annie's Birthday! Shhhhhh....... :)
Annie will turn a very beautiful 60 on July 7th so I wanted her serenaded the right way. Come join us as we welcome back Dan & Chris and celebrate Annie's birthday ! (You'll note we dropped the price for a "Senior" discount) :)
Dan Sullivan and Chris Hillier met in the most unlikely of places... a middle school men's room. [Insert your punch line here] They were both first year school teachers in Round Rock, TX. Dan was originally from Missouri and Chris from Nebraska. They quickly realized they knew some of the same folks from the Lincoln, Omaha and Kansas City music scenes. The Detentions were born and they played their first official gig for a faculty Christmas party. For over a decade now, The Detentions have been helping folks "retire one weekend at a time" playing their blend of Country/Rock/Coastal/Americana they call Rockamole.

Aaron always knew he was going to do something "different". But he couldn't have imagined that "different" would involve tropical islands, sail boats, catamarans, Parrotheads, Meeting Of The Minds, Coral Reefers, and a multi-platinum Songwriting career!
